The loss of Woolworths from Chapel Market is just another sign that Islington has given up on "ordinary" people.

Wine bars, restaurants, estate agents and anything that closes down becomes a block of very small flats - all way out of the financial reach of any young people born in the area!

Council tenants no longer know their neighbours as the flats which have been sold in local blocks are now rented to people who stay only a few months and move on.

Where are the families to live, where is the community to come from? At the rate we are going even the local schools will be unnecessary in a few years. Young people wandering the streets in gangs is surely a sign that they are feeling increasingly isolated and of no value in the local area - heaven forbid they should play football or ride their bikes in any public area!

Perhaps it's time for a rethink!
