IT was interesting to read (Gazette, December 23) about the pensioners’ party at the Town Hall that the council hosted. It would have been a nice gesture if it hadn’t been done at the same time as our pensioners’ day centre faced the axe! It looks like our recent Christmas party at Sotheby Mews Day Centre could be our last.
Despite over 900 residents and users signing a petition to the council calling on it not to close Sotheby Mews. It looks like the council will ignore us and push the closure through. – Elizabeth Clare, Orwell Court, Petherton Road, N5.
