The Olympic flame is now making its way through Islington.

The torch arrived in New Wharf Road from King’s Cross just minutes ago and is now making its way up Caledonian Road, Holloway.

The relay travels from King’s Cross to begin its journey through the borough just before 8am at the London Canal Museum in New Wharf Road.

It will then head to Highbury before going down Upper Street where there will be a brief pause outside Islington Town Hall at 8.22am, where celebrity torchbearer David Walliams will take hold of the flame.

A day of celebrations to mark the occasion will take place, with a huge performance outside the town hall, an Olympic sports day in Highbury Fields and a free family fun day at the London Canal Museum.
