One rule for all

I THINK the council must have different rules for small businesses than big businesses. The newsagent at Highbury Barn was not allowed to put a paper stand outside her shop because the pavement must be kept clear for wheelchair users.

The newsagent at Highbury Barn was not allowed to put a paper stand outside her shop because the pavement must be kept clear for wheelchair users. What about wheelchair users and prams using Islington Park Street?

Since the cigarette ban, the Hope and Anchor have put seats outside and on a warm evening and when a football match is on pedestrians even have to walk in the road, as there are so many people drinking outside the pub on the pavement. Why has the council allowed this? - Bernie Betts, via e-mail.
