The Andover Early Years Centre on the Andover Estate in Corker Walk, Holloway, is going to shut in September. The children's centre is run by the council.
Parent Rachel Dixon, said: "We accept that money is tight but it is a matter of priorities. It is hard for us to understand why our centre is being closed."
The council says the facilities at the centre are too old and in need of extensive repairs. The services will be transferred to the Holloway Mitford Children's Centre in Mayton Street, Holloway.
Councillor Ursula Woolley (Liberal Democrat), Islington Council's executive member for children, said: "Because of its location in the estate's central square, it cannot be extended to offer additional services. Moreover the building requires significant investment to make fit for purpose for the next decade. I'm sorry that people are upset but I'm confident about the services at the Holloway Mitford Centre.
