Rumours that the physiotherapy department at the Whittington Hospital will close have been denied.
During the last few weeks patients, staff and unions have heard whispers that the service is set to be withdrawn.
The hospital trust scotched the speculation, but admitted some services could be relocated within the three boroughs it serves in the future. A spokesman for Whittington Health said it was working to provide a range of services at the hospital and in the community for accessibility and to limit waiting times.
She continued: “Part of this work entails looking at our physiotherapy service at the Whittington Hospital and possible sites to provide the services in Haringey and Islington. This means that some clinics on the hospital site will relocate at some stage to community sites which will enable us to maximise and extend the choice of care provided locally.”
