ISLINGTON Council Leader Catherine West will be setting up stall inside a supermarket for the third in her series of “pop up” surgeries around the borough.

Councillor West will hope to provide residents with a warm welcome despite the cold location when she moves onto Iceland on Junction Road, Archway, on Friday November 26 to hear the concerns of local people.

She said: “These are difficult times with government cuts hitting Islington hard. These pop-up surgeries are an opportunity for local people to tell me your priorities and to find out more about what the council’s doing.

“Not everyone can attend council meetings or get online to the council’s website, so supermarket surgeries and town centre events are a great way to reach people in Islington.

“If you are out and about and have a burning question, or want to get something off your chest, feel free to drop by for a chat.”

The surgery will run from 3.30pm to 4.40pm and will have information on changes to council services and advice on where to get benefits, training and employment.
