Islington Council unveils Highbury Roundhouse masterplan

The council has unveiled its masterplan for the controversial Highbury Roundhouse redevelopment.
Islington Council has released a planning brief for the site in Ronalds Road, Highbury, which includes a new community centre.
A consultation document, which can be downloaded on the council website, runs until Monday October 24, giving residents their say.
The current building, which opened in 1974, closed in August 2010 when a dangerous structure notice was placed on the main hall.
The council announced in May that the building was to be demolished.
Now the new planning document reveals a housing association will be asked to build a new community centre of the same size as the present one, along with an undisclosed number of homes.
These will include affordable rent properties.
Residents can email email@example.com or phone 020 7527 1825 for a print copy of the planning brief.
Two drop-in sessions – on Wednesday October 5 between 5pm and 8pm and Saturday October 8 between 11am and 2pm – will take place at 71 Ronalds Road.
