The Duchess of Cambridge paid a surprise visit to a Holloway school to look at their facilities.

Her Royal Highness made the trip to Robert Blair Primary School, in Brewery Road, last week to check out their Art Room, which helps children with learning difficulties.

The pupils waited in the car park for 45 minutes to catch a peek at the princess, who waved but didn’t approach the youngsters.

One of them said: “When we were told she was coming we were so excited and waited for her so we could ask if it was fun being a princess and if she loved William. But she didn’t even come and talk to us.”

Mark Miller, headteacher at the school, said: “We were delighted that the Duchess of Cambridge visited The Art Room at Robert Blair Primary School last week to find out more about their work in the school. It is a wonderful project which benefits children and families using exciting arts projects in a therapeutic environment.”
