Around 1,000 people visited Highbury Fields and enjoyed music, food and talks from top environmentalists.
The Highbury Earth Festival on Saturday celebrated international Moving Planet Day. It was put together by Transition Highburyto raise awareness about climate change and the dangers posed by fossil fuel dependence.
Speaker and Transition member Polly Higgins, 43, the award-winning author of eco tome Eradicating Ecocide, of Liverpool Road, Islington, said: “It was about encouraging people to care for their patch of the planet.
“The music was great, kids were dancing and there were lots of conversations about why people care for Highbury.”
