TOMAS Rosicky is ready to stamp his authority on the heart of Arsenal's midfield as he puts his injury nightmare behind him this season.

The Czech Republic international has recovered from a succession of hamstring and knee problems to make an eye-catching start to the campaign, impressing at Liverpool and then orchestrating Saturday's destruction of Blackpool at the Emirates.

Having being deployed behind lone striker Marouane Chamakh against the Tangerines, Rosicky produced an immaculate display alongside Andrey Arshavin and Theo Walcott, and he conceded he is happiest when operating from the centre.

"Of course I always said I can play anywhere, the boss knows he can put me where he wants," said the 29-year-old. "But if you ask me where I would like to play I would say in the middle because I was always a centre midfielder, but he can use me wherever he wants.

"I'm happy of course that I'm involved a lot and I hope that will continue. I hope we play good football and I will be part of it.

"I had a good pre-season so I think I had a good base which I can build on, so I'm quite happy how it's going now."

Rosicky's ability to operate through the middle and on either flank makes him an invaluable asset for Arsene Wenger, as he proved against Blackpool.

With Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri both sidelined, much of the Gunners' creative responsibility fell upon Rosicky, and he didn't disappoint, combining with Arshavin for Walcott's opener and pulling the strings from the centre.

His link-up play with new boy Chamakh was also promising and, although he will start fewer games once Nasri returns, the signs are that he will be an effective weapon in what he believes can be a title-challenging year for Arsenal.

"This team is strong and we will compete for the title. We have the resources to be a top team," Rosicky added.

"We've started quite well, but it's just the two games and we have to be successful in the big games, that's where we struggled last year. We have to improve that.
