The last Christmas decoration has long been put away but Dogs Trust is now dealing with the consequences of unwanted canine Christmas presents.

It’s a very busy time of year for animal rehoming organisations left to pick up the pieces after the novelty of owning that bundle of fun wears off.

To reduce the number of Christmas present pups being abandoned Dogs Trust is encouraging owners to invest time in training their new four-legged friends. However naughty a new puppy may seem, training will help transform a cheeky puppy into the perfectly-mannered family pet.

Dogs Trust runs puppy training courses at many of its 17 Rehoming Centres. To find details of the nearest Rehoming Centre and advice on how to care and train a new puppy visit www.dogstrust.org.uk or call us 020 7837 0006. – Clarissa Baldwin, Dogs Trust Chief Executive, Wakley Street, EC1.
