There was nothing rubbish about the litter clearing exercise carried out by more than 50 people in Newbury Park.
The day was organised by the 1st Aldborough Hatch Scout Group – 20 years after they carried out their last clear up of the area. They were helped by the Aldborough Hatch Defence Association who wanted to clear up the lanes and footpaths around the area.
Scout leader Martin Wilderspin, who helped with the last litter pick two decades ago, said: “I hope that it will encourage residents and those who pass through to stop dumping rubbish and dropping litter”
The team’s Saturday efforts led to them being treated to a barbecue afterwards to reward all their hard work.
