A troupe of specialist actors will soar above a Holloway estate this month in an aerial rendition of famous Greek legends.
Heartland, a modern take on the Minotaur and Icarus myths, takes place on July 22 and 23 and climaxes in the sky above the Andover Estate off Seven Sisters Road on a specially constructed eight-metre rig.
The performance, part of the Islington-wide Platform Festival, is the result of a collaboration between aerial theatre group Scarabeus, based at Hargrave Park Primary School, Archway, and dance troupe Candoco.
The action starts at Hornsey Baths, Hornsey Road, before the actors and the audience are led by the Pooles Park Community Chorus, Pooles Park School Choir and Mount Carmel Secondary School choir to the show’s climax in Andover Square.
