ARSENE WENGER has called on his players to stay at Arsenal and "show that they are real winners" as the speculation mounts over several of his star names.

The Gunners boss is still reeling from the defeats to Liverpool and Manchester United that all but ended Arsenal's chances of silverware last month, and he knows insult could be added to injury if some of his squad decide to move on in the summer.

But he has called on the likes of Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb to commit their futures to the club, and end their three-year spell without a trophy next season.

"There is something existing in this team that is stronger than just a few bucks more somewhere," said Wenger this week.

"What is really important for me is that this team says 'let's go to the end of our potential together and show that we are real winners', not walk out and that's what I expect.

"I expect the team to show strength, to show that they care what they want to achieve together."

While Wenger is still waiting on a decision from Flamini over his future, Hleb has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, and Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona is another rumour that won't go away.

But Wenger is adamant that higher wages should not be a motivation for his already mega-rich players.

"We are not in a situation any more where you can get £100 more somewhere else, so you go because it is deciding your life," he added.

"Mathieu can earn more money somewhere else that is for sure, because he is a free transfer.

"But I believe the decision he has to make is how much he is prepared to sacrifice to stay here."

Meanwhile Wenger added that he is considering reporting Inter Milan to Uefa after their manager Roberto Mancini publicly declared an interest in signing Hleb.

"The way they behave is absolutely unacceptable," said Wenger. "If they want to sign one of our players they should call me.

"But it's always the same, they are using the agents to destablilise the players and it is unsettling."

Hleb, 27, is suspended for the final games of the season after accepting a violent conduct charge and three-game ban for hitting Reading's Graeme Murty on April 19.
