Homeless and vulnerable people will be offered health checks at a festival in Finsbury Park next month.
Streets Kitchen, which runs the Solidarity Centre in Seven Sisters Road, is working with Haringey and Islington Council to host the Streets Fest event on September 10.
There will be hairdressers, dentists, doctors, housing advisors and outreach groups on hand, as well as a barbecue and entertainment.
Streets Kitchen founder Jon Glackin told the Gazette he was expecting more than 500 people at the event.
“It’s going to be a one-stop shop,” he said. “We’re working with Haringey and Islington and we’re waiting to hear from Hackney Council about whether they are going to get involved.”
As it stands, the Solidarity Centre is in the vacant Seven Sisters Road unit until next month, and Jon said he doesn’t know what will happen after that, although talks have taken place with Haringey Council about a possible headquarters in the borough.
