Three charitable children are doing their bit to help raise funds for struggling families.

Mia Kavanagh, Martha Cheek and Gloria Montondo, all aged 10, have created a range of handmade bookmarks which they have sold in return for donations to the Finsbury Park Homeless Families Project.

“It was really fun making the bookmarks – people were really generous”, Martha said, after the girls raised 52 for the project.

The charity, which has been operating for nearly 30 years, aims to help homeless families in temporary accommodation by giving them access to facilities that they otherwise would struggle to find.

Sirtaj Rahman, project manager at the Finsbury Park charity, praised the girls’ efforts, saying: “In this difficult funding environment it is wonderful to see children helping to raise money, especially as demand for our services is so high.”
