Further to your report “Student explosion” (Gazette, January 13), I note that most of the recent developments of student accommodation were given planning permission when Councillor terry Stacy’s party was in power.
The Liberal Democrats used to see first-time student voters as a fertile source of Lib Dem votes. I doubt if this is still the case. Could this be the reason for Councillor Stacy’s U-turn? – Barry Edwards, Labour councillor for Holloway Ward, Town Hall, Upper Street, N1.
