A historic listed pub in Holloway has been sold to a Buckinghamshire firm.

The two-floor Quays pub in Holloway Road was offloaded by independent owner Finbar Holian and will now be run by the Distinct Group.

The 6,500 sq ft Grade II-listed building has a late alcohol licence and can take more than 400 customers.

Chris Bickle, director of licensed leisure at Savills, who brokered the sale, said: “The sale of The Quays was a rare opportunity to acquire a public house in the area that is undergoing a fair amount of investment.”

Distinct Group manager Gareth Leakey vowed: “Following an extensive refurbishment the pub will open all day every day, and late on Fridays and Saturdays.”

He added it would serve breakfast at weekends as well as roasts every Sunday. There will also be live entertainment.

The pub, which dates back to the 19th Century, was originally known as the Half Moon. It was later renamed to Burke & Sons before opening as The Quays in 2001.
