Around 5,000 people braved the scorching heat to try out a new activity at a borough-wide sports day.
Go Islington took place at Highbury Fields on July 14 in a bid to encourage healthy lifestyles and keep the Olympic spirit alive.
A similar event was held last year on the day the Olympic torch passed through the borough.
Cllr Janet Burgess, Islington Council’s executive member for health, wellbeing and leisure, said: “Once again the sun shone and residents turned out in large numbers to try a new sport or get information about healthy lifestyles.
“I want to thank all those who made it possible – including a number of volunteers.
