Details of a plan to wage war on Finsbury Park’s fast food joints and gambling shops were revealed this week.
Last year Islington Council announced it would be spearheading a tri-borough plan, along with neighbouring Haringey and Hackney, to rejuvenate the area.
Almost £1million is set to be ploughed into the scheme but exact details have been scarce. Now a document, set to go before the town hall’s ruling executive last night (Wednesday), gives a timeline for improvements.
In a bid to reduce crime, from next year more CCTV and lighting will be installed, as well physical measures to reduce the opportunities for muggings.
Shopping areas along Blackstock and Seven Sisters roads will be improved and a park may be built between Osbourne Road and Upper Tollington Park. The railway arches will be brightened up while the station will undergo a refurbishment.
