I WAS walking along Holloway Road the other day and I saw a chap open his car door.

I thought that he had dropped his tool bag as there was a loud contact sound... however when I took a closer look I realised that the driver had connected with a cyclist, resulting in the cyclist going into orbit and crashing into cold concrete.

I then thought that perhaps it would be a good time to make a new law where all people who choose to cycle wear head protection, as the road is not very forgiving, and it may save their life. Just a thought. – M. G. McElligott, Amwell Street, EC1.
