A much-loved urban farm has persuaded some of the UK’s top comedians to take part in a fundraising event to keep the place in business.
A Night of Comedy for Freightliners Farm, on June 16, will include the stand-up talents of Islington resident Alan Davies, plus Jo Brand and Phill Jupitus.
The farm has been in its current Sheringham Road location since 1978 providing an estimated 45,000 people a year the chance to hang out with animals.
But the UK’s double dip recession has seen the Holloway institution struggle for funding. It is hoped the gala event will bring in some much-needed cash.
n A Night of Comedy for Freightliners will take place at the Union Chapel, Compton Avenue, Isington, on June 16. Tickets cost 27.50 (22.50 conc), visit www.ticketmaster.co.uk
