Snakes and spiderman take centre stage at Pooles Park’s Comic Relief fun

Dolphins, snakes and spidermen were on the prowl as a primary school celebrated Comic Relief on Friday.

Pupils at Pooles Park Primary School, in Lennox Road, Finsbury Park, had their faces painted and dressed up in honour of Red Nose Day.

Teachers are still counting the cash, but the school says about £350 was raised as youngsters dug deep to contribute to good causes, while taking part in a variety of activities during a fun packed day.

Jess Healy, assistant head at the school, said: “It was brilliant.

“Two of the teachers were face painting all day, from 9am to 3.30pm, and all the kids brought money and contributed.

“Everyone had a brilliant time, they did nice activities in class, we had a fashion parade during assembly and even had a silly face competition.

“It was a really, really lovely day.”

Comic Relief brought in £78million in donations this year, bringing the total raised by the charity to £1billion since it was founded 30 years ago.
