Seven film club pupils from Vittoria Primary School in Barnsbury made their own film – and had it shown in Paris at the Cinémathèque Française, the French equivalent of the BFI.
The pupils travelled to the French capital last week for the screening of Culpeper Paradise.
They had been working on it since October, when they were briefed to make a film that would demonstrate how places can be used to tell a story.
They then chose to set it in the area around the school, and in Culpeper Gardens.
The project was part of the international education project “Cinéma, cent ans de jeunesse” [100 years of youth]. Vittoria Primary School was one of three schools representing the UK and the only school from London.
The children attended the screening, answered questions from an international audience of young and old film makers and watched other films from around the world. They also found the time for a quick trip on the Seine.
They will be attending another screening at the BFI Southbank later in June.
