I AM writing to ask if your readers would generously support us with the first ever St Mungo's Woolly Hat Day event on Friday, October 22. Homelessness charity St Mungo's manages an emergency shelter in Islington and a number of homes looking after people with physical and mental health needs, some of the among 100 housing, health and skills projects we run across London and the south.

Our hope is that many people will take part and the day will become a major national fundraising focus for people to show their support for homeless people as well as a significant awareness builder for the good work that St Mungo's does in helping people recover.

Whatever way, every 1 that's raised will help St Mungo's open doors for homeless people.
