News is breaking that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed a new 24 month deal which will keep him at the club for another two years.

According to the BBC’s David Ornstein Wenger has extended his 21-year reign at the club.

The long-serving Frenchman met with club owner Stan Kroenke yesterday to discuss his future, with the decision then relayed to directors as a board meeting earlier today.

As the Islington Gazette reported the club will make an official statement tomorrow.

Arsenal beat the Premier League champions Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday to lift the FA Cup for a club record 13th time – with Wenger victorious in the world’s oldest knockout tournament, triumphing for a record seventh time.

Speaking after the match on Saturday: “I have played until the end of my contract, which is today [Saturday]. I have shown you I have exactly the same commitment.”

He also pointedly referred to the criticism from many fans by saying: “Once the game starts you have to support your team.
