All manner of Islington’s denizens, from famous actors to bobbies on the beat, sported handlebar, toothbrush and wispy moustaches as the long-running movember craze returned for another year.
Star of the smash hit TV show Homeland Damian Lewis, who lives in Tufnell Park, wore a distinguished ginger number throughout November, while independent Cllr Greg Foxsmith raised £200 with his bushy sprouting.
At Islington police station, officers reached out the long hair of the law as at least ten coppers crowned their upper lip in glory for 30 days.
Movember is a yearly event which originated in Australia seven years ago and encourages chaps to grow a moustache throughout November to raise money for prostrate cancer research.
