Strawberries and cream are coming to King’s Cross next week where a giant screen will show all the tennis from Wimbledon.

More than 4,000 people snubbed Murray Mound for Granary Square to watch the Scot win the most coveted racket-related title in sport last year – and “Strawberries and Screen” returns this year for the two-week tournament.

At four metres by four metres, the screen this summer will be even bigger than last year. The first 50 or so visitors will also be able to grab a deck chair for viewing comfort. Picnics are welcome and Green and Fortune Café will be serving up sandwiches, jugs of Pimms, beer and soft drinks.

Anna Strongman, who oversees the events programme at King’s Cross, said: “The atmosphere will be the best outside of SW19.”

Strawberries and Screen will run from the start of play at Wimbledon on Monday June 23 to the conclusion of the men’s final on Sunday July 6.
