Youngsters who spent the summer watching their Olympic heroes win gold on TV have the chance to follow in their footsteps in Finsbury Park this summer.
Access to Sports annual programme of free activities is well underway, with athletics, handball and basketball among many sports eight- to 15-year-olds can try, with more than 150 getting involved so far.
Project worker Sean Burke said: “It’s been really popular this year with the Olympics going on. On Monday we had loads trying out the athletics after watching Usain Bolt.
“It’s about getting them involved in positive activities and building bridges between children from different estates. I don’t know if I’ve seen any future gold medallists, but there certainly have been some very fast kids.”
n Activities run Monday to Thursday. Call 020 7686 8812 to book a place.
