I READ the report about Islington's dog dropping problem and I was surprised that so many are annoyed by so few. There was a strong scent of dissatisfaction. So I would like to offer the council a suggestion as to how to help the majority.

Instead of a fine of £80, why not introduce a fine of £800? They might become more responsible dog owners. In fact, I think they would take off their shoe and put the dog's product in there rather than face the prospect of am £800 fine. - M.G. McElligott, Amwell Street, EC1.
