I CAN'T understand why Islington Council cannot afford the flowers, which we have enjoyed this year and previously - when it wastes money on projects which the majority of people cannot see and enjoy, as they can in Holloway Road and Islington High Street.

I have been told from a reliable source that they have spent £27,000 on flowers and £55,000 on landscaping in an area which the majority of people in Islington won't see. Have you seen this area which is on the corner of Barnsbury Park and Liverpool Road? - Bernie Betts, via e-mail.
