The N8 club know only a win will realistically keep alive their hopes of promotion

Hornsey face a tricky task on Saturday in the Middlesex County League Division Two.

After triumphing at home to Wycombe House last time out, they will travel to the leaders Stanmore this weekend.

It is a big game for Garfield Struthers’ team and they will know only an away win will realistically keep alive their hopes of promotion.

Hornsey are currently in fourth place on 77 points and 21 off second-placed Enfield and 26 overall behind the pace-setters after 13 games.

Struthers’ men will go into the fixture with confidence at least after a comfortable over Wycombe House at home.

It was the visitors who won the toss and they decided to have a bat first, but suffered a bad collapse.

After reaching 108-2, House were quickly dismissed for 148 with Jack Goldberg (5-27) running through the tail.

Wickets were all shared by the likes of Jack Bruce (1-28), Paul Weekes (1-29) and Joe Emanuel (2-32) and the latter hit 75 not out to see Hornsey home in the 33rd over with Liam O’Hara unbeaten on 39.
