Islington BC plan to give debuts to several fighters when they stage their first home show of the new season this week.

The Hazellville Road club have so far matched a mixture of juniors and seniors for Wednesday’s show at the Boston Dome, Tufnell Park – the first of five scheduled for this season.

Cam’ron Glenn-Gladstone, Joshua Strong, Ryan Bond and Mahad Ali are among the juniors scheduled to box in the red and white Islington vest for the first time.

The programme also includes at least three senior boxers making their debuts for the club – Conrad Francis, Noelle O’Regan and James Costanzo.

Islington matchmaker Reggie Hagland said: “Some of the boxers set to feature have been at the club for some time, progressing through our academy ranks to become competitive boxers.

“These are the sort of shows that are vital in the development of boxers, getting the opportunity to box locally and in front of their team-mates and supporters.

“We’ve got a big, hungry novice squad to build up this season and the vibe in the club is excellent. The future is most certainly red and white!”

Tickets, priced at £15 (adults) and £5 (16 and under) are available to buy on the door at the venue. Doors open at 6.30pm, with boxing due to get under way at 8pm.

Advance tickets are also available from the club or events manager Mick Doherty. For further details, call 07921 724 601 or send an email to ibcmc@hotmail.com
