A school sports team raced to victory in the Islington Athletics Championship, thrashing rival schools in almost every event.
Central Foundation Boys School, in Cowper Street, Finsbury, fielded competitors from Years 7 to 10, winning events in both track and field.
The school dominated, taking home 29 gold medals from a possible 46 events with their Year 8 group proving to be the most successful, missing out on a gold medal in only two of the events they took part in.
Dan O’Neil, PE Teacher at the school, said: “We’re really proud of the boys, they’ve been working extremely hard training for the tournament, often staying after school hours.
“It was a great day and a fitting reward for many months of hard work.”
