Anaconda SC duo Elena Dewhurst and Tommy Donovan will compete in national tournaments later this summer after their impressive displays in recent qualifying races.

Dewhurst, 13, has secured a place in the 13-14 years’ 50m freestyle at the British ASA Summer Championships, which take place in Sheffield at the end of July.

And 15-year-old Donovan has qualified for the 15 years’ 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke at the English championships, which will be held at the same venue in early August.

Wayne Lock, who is head coach at the Cally Pool-based club, said: “I am very proud of our two swimmers for qualifying for nationals. It’s great to see hard work rewarded.

“This also demonstrates the progression our club is making and I’m sure this is the start of plenty more to come.”
