Islington welterweight Freddy Kiwitt enjoyed a win at York Hall last Friday at the end of a hectic week for the 27-year-old.
Kiwitt was called into action to replace John O’Donnell early last week in a fight for the vacant English title against Tamuka Mucha.
However, Mucha also pulled out before Friday’s bout, leaving Kiwitt to face Jumanne Camero, with no belt on the line on the Hayemaker Promotions bill.
Kiwitt was in control for the first four rounds, which eventually proved enough to win, despite Camero battling until the end of the eight-round contest.
Also in action on the bill was Islington lightweight Mo Gharib, who earned a second win in the pro ranks.
Gharib took on Devon rival Jamie Speight, a two-time former Southern Area champion, at York Hall.
Gharib was in control for the most part of the four-round contest, before being awarded the win on points to continue his unbeaten record as a pro.
