London table-tennis star Tin-Tin Ho had more success on day seven of the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Having already won a bronze medal in the women’s team event, the teenager teamed up with Liam Pitchford to beat a Singapore pair in the mixed doubles round of 32.

The pair won silver at the Glasgow 2014 Games, but Ho said: “We just have to forget and focus on the next one.

“We played in the nationals together and also at the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. We got into the finals so we are hoping to improve from that.”

Ho also made progress in the women’s sinngles, beating Sri Lanka’s Hansani Kapugeekiyana.

She added: “The first two sets were quite difficult as she plays quite a high risk game and I wasn’t varying it enough, but then I managed to find my way, so I’m happy with that.

“It would be really cool to get a medal, but I’m going to take it one match at a time. I’ve got quite a tough match coming up, so hopefully I can do well.”
