Two wickets in three balls from Middlesex’s Tim Murtagh moments before lunch on day three put pressure on Warwickshire as they hunt a victory target of 203 runs.

Murtagh snaffled former Surrey man Dom Sibley for a three ball duck after a smart catch from Ollie Rayner.

The 36-year-old then dismantled the stumps of former England Test batsman Ian Bell for nought to leave the visitors on 1-2 before another ex-England player Jonathan Trott ended the morning session unbeaten on seven – with first innings century maker Will Rhodes not out on three with 193 still required and eight wickets remaining.

Earlier Middlesex ended on 242 after Jeetan Patel grabbed his fifth wicket of the innings as he bowled John Simpson for 33 to finish with figures of 5-56.
