North London captain Sam Bardon is hoping his side can improve in the field when they begin their second half of the season against Uxbridge.

Bardon's side batted for 116 all out on Saturday against Middlesex Tamil Sports & Social Club in the Middlesex County Cricket League Division Three and were caught in just 13.4 overs.

The captain has urged his side to improve in the field against Uxbridge after a number of dropped catches in their previous game.

"Our bowlers bowled well but we let them down in the field," he said. "We dropped several catches in a short space of time and if we had taken a couple of them we would have been right in the game.

"Our next game is against a very different opposition and is a different ground.

"We generally play well there so we will be looking to improve in the field and start off the second half of the season well."

Will Lake opened the batting well for North London on Saturday, hitting 35 runs off 45 balls before he was bowled by Sharuban Kanthasamy.

Freddie Issitt entered at number four to hit 42 for his side before he was caught and bowled by Kibreeth Rameez to leave his side on 99-7.

North London could only add another 17 before they were bowled all out after 40.2 overs.

Middlesex Tamil Sports & Social Club took little time to see off their opponents, needing just their opening two batsman as Elankopan Thavalinkam and Ashutosh Sharma hit 58 and 57 respectively to complete the chase.

Bardon was surprised his side were caught in so little time but was disappointed they could not achieve a bigger score.

He added: "It was disappointing to get bowled out for 120 even though it is always a difficult pitch to play on at Middlesex Tamils.

"As odd as it sounds we thought we were in the game at half way, as any three figure score can be difficult to chase there.

"It came as a huge surprise that they chased it down as easily as they did."
