England beaten by Australia on in New Zealand on Tuesday

Four Middlesex youngsters suffered quarter-final heartbreak with England in Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.

Ethan Bamber, Jack Davies and Luke Hollman all played in the quarter-final defeat to Australia, while Savin Perera is also part of the squad for the tournament.

After losing the toss and being put into the field, Bamber finished with figures of 3-31 to help England bowl their rivals out for just 127.

Hollman also took on some duties with the ball, but was unable to take any wickets in his five-over spell.

In reply, England struggled with the bat throughout their chase, despite a knock of 58 from opener Tom Banton.

Davies finished unbeaten on 11, though England were bowled out for a just 88 in reply to lose by 31 runs.

The tournament is not over yet, though, with two play-off games remaining for England to see if they can finish the World Cup as high as fifth, which will be their new aim.
