Aside from the adult teams, everything at Highgate CC is progressing very well, with significant development on the foundations that were laid by the committee last year.

The club are the UK's largest All Stars Cricket Centre, and the first to recruit over 200 participants, but they still have places for these sessions.

He said: "Due to the extensive drive to work more in local Haringey schools, we have increased our junior membership by 50 per cent year on year, with a particular swell at the bottom of the club - under-nines to under-11s - which bodes well for future teams.

"We are incredibly fortunate to have Steve and Zoë Blyghton from Finchley who are managing these age groups, providing kids with a great first experience of team cricket and these numbers will only continue to grow as we reap the rewards from All Stars."

Director of Junior Cricket de Silva added: "The atmosphere at Highgate is very positive, with over 25 new members having joined since the winter.

"This injection of fresh blood has freshened the club up, and we have seen great benefit of these players within our higher senior teams.

"Our links with UCL continue to develop, we recently held their Varsity Game, and we have also completed some work with LSE to train more coaches, which has had a direct benefit to our junior section. The club is a great place to be right now and very much on the up."

Highgate's success is not merely limited to kids or men's cricket though, with a newly formed women's side with Crouch End also thriving.

"Women and Girls' cricket with Crouch End CC is flourishing, and we are thankful to have an engaged working group delivering on this strategy, as well as great support from Middlesex CCC who recently invited us to Lord's," de Silva added.

"All of this great work bodes well for the future and we look forward to future softball cricket festivals on June 28, July 19, August 16 and October 5.
