Garfield Struthers' men have one victory after two games in this season's Middlesex County Division Two

Hornsey lost a thrilling clash with Winchmore Hill last Saturday in the Middlesex County Division Two.

Garfield Struthers' men were looking for a second straight, after smashing Wycombe House on May 11, but lost out by two wickets.

After making the journey to the Paulin Ground, Hornsey were put into bat first by the hosts and struggled.

James Bull and Lesbourne Edwards went early and they were soon 51-4.

Wicket-keeper batsman Gurpreet Basra impressed at number four though, and top scored with 37, but the next best effort was 27 by Bishal Bidduth low down the order.

Hornsey were dismissed for 153 with almost 15 overs left, but the visitors made a strong fist of the second innings.

Winchmore looked to be in control on 135-4, but Ni-Amaa Ollennu (3-29) and Bidduth (4-31) turned the screw and it made things interesting.

Hill still got over the line in the end though, and Hornsey will seek a response at recently relegated Premier Division side Brondesbury this week.
