The Calthorpe club registered their fourth win in five league games on Saturday and will hope for more of the same this weekend

Crouch End entertain Acton in the Middlesex County League Division Three on Saturday looking to make it five wins from six this year.

Hiren Desai’s team have taken to life at a higher level after promotion like a duck to water and the only game they haven’t won in 2018 was due to an abandonment.

Last weekend, they visited Indian Gymkhana and put in a solid display to claim a win by 47 runs.

Crouch End wicket-keeper Jalpesh Vijay top scored with 53 and Pratik Patel (27) and Amandeep Dhaliwal (36) helped the visitors post 201-9 from 45 overs.

Indian Gymkhana made a decent start in reply and did reach 57-1, but Chetan Depala claimed 2-26 to reduce them to 63-3 and Ryan Cunningham took over afterwards.

Cunningham produced a fine spell of 5-15 from eight overs to help dismiss the hosts for 154 in the 41st over.

It keeps Crouch End second in the table ahead of their next clash on Saturday at home to fourth-placed Acton.
