Chiem Eluwa completed a superb first half with 12 points to set up Islington Panthers’ Under-18s’ 50-22 victory over Hackney Kings in the Community Basketball League.
Eluwa scored all six points in the first quarter to help his side (pictured) take a 6-4 lead at the Reach and Teach Basketball Centre, Kennington, and then a further six as they extended that advantage to 18-11 going into half-time.
In the third quarter, Islington’s MVP Jesse Bilomba ensured that his team maintained control with an aggressive defensive display, while Eluwa added another five points and Jay Ogunleye six.
Bilomba said: “We played well from start to finish, but we need to work on our communication to improve.”
The league is run by the London School of Basketball in partnership with Reach and Teach. For details, contact lwilliams@reachandteach.co.uk
