Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is inching nearer signing a new contract at the club, according to the player who believes 'it will get done'.
Wilshere earned praise from fans and pundits alike for his all-action midfield display combining tenacity with flair to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Selhurst Park on Thursday evening.
Speaking after the game Wilshere said: “I’m happy with my form.
“I feel better, I feel fit. We’re getting better each game and I’m enjoying my football.
“Another game another three points – I’m happy.”
When asked about his contract situation the Hitchin-reared 25-year-old answered: “The boss said he is going to speak to me.
“We’ll see when he speaks to me and I’m sure we’ll get it done.”
The midfielder who has now played four league matches in a row for the first time in four years was also praised by home boss Roy Hodgson.
The former England manager was generous in his hailing the quality of the Gunners offensive lines after they won 3-2 through a Shkodran Mustafi first half strike. Andros Townsend equalised five minutes after the break before two goals from wantaway Alexis Sanchez put the game beyond doubt, leaving just time for an 89th minute James Tompkins header to reduce the deficit and make it 3-2.
The former England boss said: “We have to accept we were beaten by the better team on the night – it was a good performance from The Arsenal.”
