Free-scoring Isledon Wolves duo Oscar Phillips and his younger brother Frankie have been invited to take part in trials with Premier League side Watford.

Oscar, 10, and eight-year-old Frankie have both been captaining their respective age groups at the Camden & Islington League club this season, as well as netting a hatful of goals.

West Ham had already been running the rule over the brothers before Watford stepped in and invited the Isledon pair to train with them three days a week.

Isledon Wolves secretary Pip Clothier said: “We’re delighted for Frankie and Oscar, as well as their dad Rob, who happens to be one of our coaches. Thankfully he’s told me he won’t be moving on as well!

“It’s an important boost for anybody else who plays with us to see their team-mates making such fantastic progress – and of course it means we have a couple of spaces for the next stars of the future.”

Meanwhile, three of Wolves’ Under-16 players have gone for trials at Championship club Rotherham United after catching the eye against their academy side.

Captain Nicky Marshall, who scored twice in the Wolves’ 5-3 victory over Rotherham, was invited for a trial along with team-mates Yasen Malumbu and Arnold Mengi.
