Read our World Cup blog which will be featuring over the coming weeks. Jacob Ranson reviews one of the matches on day four of the tournament.

The talk of the match was much on Brazil’s star man Neymar and how the Swiss tried to man handle him out of the match as he was taken down a total of 10 times.

That marked the most fouls on one player in the World Cup since 1998, when Tunisia fouled Alan Shearer 11 times.

There was plenty more fun facts about the match including Brazil failed to win their opening match of a World Cup for the first time since 1978.

Not forgetting, the favourites Brazil will be gutted to have not got revenge on Switzerland after a handful of the current squad including, Alisson, Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Casemiro were knocked out of their U17 World Cup group by their opponents.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, AC Milan’s Ricardo Rodriguez, and Benfica striker Haris Seferovic all featured in the winning Switzerland team nine years ago.

All seven of the stars that featured in that match all started yesterday.

Aside from the football the stand-out moment during the match was the punditry former West Ham United and Croatia boss Slaven Bilic.

His neutral remarks on the referee’s decision in the match were summed up by his remark of “to be honest, I don’t care” which left fellow pundits Ian Wright and Gary Neville in stitches.

Back to the match and it was all Brazil in the early stages capped off by a superb goal from Coutinho, who stood out in the match, possibly helped by the space created from the Swiss being so tight on Neymar.

It didn’t remain that way as the Swiss eventually broke down Brazil and found an equaliser.

They then managed to weather the storm and cause yet another upset in the early stages of the World Cup.
