A double from Sang-Pierre Gomez completed Somers Town Under-15s’ fightback as they overcame Islington Admiral 3-1 to make it two wins out of two in the Camden & Islington Youth League.

Somers goalkeeper Ervine Mbaya-Kimpalu produced an excellent early save, but he was powerless to prevent Admiral from taking a deserved lead midway through the first half.

Trailing at the break, Somers Town hit back just 14 seconds after the restart as Jendrick Loeschner lobbed the equaliser – and he then set up Gomez to make it 2-1 from close range.

A powerful run and clinical finish from Gomez extended Somers Town’s advantage and, although there was a late scare when Admiral hit the post, only solid defending denied the London County Cup holders further goals.
