Muz Ali’s team have struggled for form over the last few weeks and are bottom of the table

Highgate will face a tough task on Saturday when they make the trip to current Middlesex County League Premier Division leaders Richmond.

Muz Ali’s team dropped to the bottom of the table last weekend after a narrow three-wicket defeat at Twickenham.

It was Highgate’s fifth loss of the campaign and places them at the basement with 17 points from nine games.

A visit to Old Deer Park is up next for the division new boys and they will take on a confident Richmond side after seven wins from nine fixtures.

Highgate will at least make the trip following an impressive fightback during the loss last time out to lowly Twickenham.

Captain Ali hit 41 not out as the struggling side were dismissed for 96 in 40 overs.

It wasn’t enough runs, but Highgate produced a battling display in the field and Craig Gourlay claimed 4-20.

Uzair Amjaid backed him up with 3-34, but the hosts got home to win by three wickets.

Nevertheless, Highgate will aim to show more fight away to leaders Richmond.
